Golf is the reason Hot Springs Village exists at the scale it does, and the Village is widely described as offering nine golf courses — commonly cited at roughly 171 holes in total. Eight are operated by the Property Owners' Association (POA) and carry Spanish-explorer names drawn from the region's heritage: Balboa, Coronado, Cortez, DeSoto, Granada, Isabella, Magellan, and Ponce de Leon. The ninth, Diamante Country Club, is a separate member-owned private club with its own gated neighborhood inside the Village. Course names and the current count can change with renovations and reconfigurations, so verify the present roster with the POA before you plan around a specific layout.
Because the courses sit at different elevations and were built in different eras, each has its own character — some tighter and more wooded, others more open and forgiving. That range is a genuine buying advantage: a golf household can find frontage on a layout that actually suits how they play, rather than settling for the one course in town.
The lineup

The eight POA courses (Balboa, Coronado, Cortez, DeSoto, Granada, Isabella, Magellan, Ponce de Leon) are open to residents and, in varying degrees, to the public. Green fees, tee-time access, and any resident discounts run through the POA — confirm current policy.
Diamante is the Village's only member-owned private club, with its own gated neighborhood of home sites. Play and amenities are limited to members and guests; membership is separate from POA ownership. Verify current membership tiers and fees directly with the club.
Layouts vary from tight, tree-lined mountain holes to more open valley routing. If errant-ball exposure worries you, the routing and your lot's position on the hole matter more than the course name.
Living on a course is not the same as playing it freely. Golf privileges, trail-fee or cart rules, and membership tiers are set by the POA or Diamante — sort out access before you assume it comes with the house.
Buyers routinely conflate the two, so it's worth stating plainly. The eight POA courses are amenities of the Village itself, funded and run through the Property Owners' Association that every owner already pays into; access and fees are governed by POA policy. Diamante Country Club is a private, member-owned operation — its own club, its own gated neighborhood, its own membership dues and initiation structure, distinct from your POA assessment. Owning a Diamante home site does not by itself grant equivalent access to POA courses, and paying POA assessments does not grant Diamante play. If a specific course is central to your decision, confirm exactly what access your prospective address and memberships include — in writing.
